GET TO KNOW JENNIFER

As Deputy Mayor for the City of Toronto and Councillor for Scarborough - Rouge Park, I will continue working with residents and the greater community to build a better and more livable city. I am committed to improving public transit, protecting the environment and creating employment opportunities in Scarborough.

I also serve as Chair of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee. In that capacity, I have been working to advance the City of Toronto's ravine strategy and climate action plan. I also sit on the Board for the Green Municipal Fund, which supports municipalities across Canada to adopt sustainable practices.

Before I was elected, I worked as a Professional Geoscientist. My graduate (Ph.D. 2006) and postgraduate research was supported by numerous provincial, national and international awards, including the prestigious L'Oréal/United Nations Educational Scientific Organization (UNESCO) Women in Science Fellowship. I managed industrial-academic partnerships and environmental research in the non-profit sector.

I consider it an absolute privilege to represent the City and Scarborough—Rouge Park as Deputy Mayor and Council Member.
